Lucy Waterfield

Hello! My name is Lucy Waterfield and this is my second year joining at GFS and living in Dubai. Before making the leap to the UAE, I was teaching in England for 2 years. It was here that I gained my BA in Primary Education with a specialism in mathematics and found my passion for teaching. The opportunity to lead KS1 mathematics at GFS excites and fascinates me. Growing up, I always loved the subject and it has become my passion to instill the same positive, trusting and fun learning experience for every child. The idea of creating a love for mathematics in every child has become a very important goal for me, especially working at an international school, as maths is the only subject that is the same in all languages and has endless applications to everyday lives. On a personal note, I love to stay active, explore new places and meet new people. This year I look forward to embracing my role as a Year 2 teacher again alongside enhancing the teaching of mathematics in KS1.
