Hannah Monk
Assistant Headteacher Key Stage 3
My name is Hannah Monk and I am the Assistant Headteacher for KS3 at GEMS Founders School. This is my sixth year at GFS and fifth year leading the KS3 team. I have a wealth of experience working in this area of the school and as a dedicated practitioner I endeavor to ensure students have the tools to access a high quality curriculum, whereby they surpass their potential. A large part of my role is to support our learner’s journeys throughout KS3 and ensure they have access to a range of experiences and subjects. Ultimately, contributing to and helping students in making important decisions about IGCSE options in Year 9. In addition to this, my team and I ensure there is a seamless transition between Year 6 and 7 during the summer term, as students embark on their KS3 chapter in Secondary School.
On a personal note, my subject specialism lies within PE, where I qualified in 2014 with a first class degree in BA (Hons) Physical Education with QTS. As well as teaching the fundamentals and life skills that fall under PE, living a healthy active lifestyle is a passion of mine and I always wish to influence others to have a similar mindset. In my own time, I play and coach netball and also enjoy to travel where I can learn and experience new cultures around the world.
