Zakiyah Rawat

Hello my name is Zakiyah Rawat and I am the Head of Drama at GFS! I am originally from London, England. I graduated with honors in English and Drama from Royal Holloway University. I then went on to complete my PGCE in English and Drama. Following this I went on to teach Drama at a school in London. During this time I also completed my Masters Degree in Education from UCL’s Institute of Education.

I started at GEMS Founders School in 2021 and set up the Drama department as it was not previously offered at the school. I feel incredibly proud of how far we have come since then. We have grown substantially with excellent numbers for both GCSE and A-level along with fantastic uptake in extra-curricular activities. The Drama department is thriving and I am really excited to watch it continue to grow.
