Natasha McCleneghen
Head of Year 1
Hello, my name is Ms. Natasha and I am the Head of Year 1.
This is my fifth year at GEMS Founders school and my seventh year as a primary teacher.
I am originally from Glasgow, Scotland where I studied at the University of Glasgow for four years and graduated with a Bachelor of Education with Teaching Qualification. I previously taught in a school in Scotland with a language and speech communication unit and thoroughly enjoyed my role of helping children transition from our specialist classes into full time mainstream classes.
Over the past two years, I have worked as the Phonics Coordinator across Y1-3. I have a strong interest in children’s early-reading development and thoroughly enjoyed my role of helping to develop the teaching and learning of Phonics.
I am very excited to be leading Year 1 and can’t wait to welcome all our children and families into the year group. I know we are going to have an amazing year!
