Arun Matthew
Head of Inclusion Secondary
I am currently serving as the Head of Inclusion – Secondary at GEMS Founders School (GFS), a role I have proudly held after beginning my journey with the school in 2017 as an Inclusion Teacher. Over the years, I have worked across both primary and secondary phases, dedicating myself to the academic and personal development of students of determination.
Holding a Master’s degree in Disability Studies and bringing nine years of specialized experience in the field of inclusion, I have cultivated a deep understanding of how to identify and support individual learning needs. My approach centers on early identification, collaborative planning, and effective intervention—empowering students to build independence and achieve their academic goals. In addition to my leadership role, I have taught Mathematics and English across key stages and currently teach students across secondary, preparing them for their IGCSE examinations. Providing access arrangement support in examinations. I have also served as a form tutor, consistently creating inclusive classroom environments that celebrate student voice, choice, and progress.
My passion lies in enabling every learner to thrive by creating equitable, accessible, and nurturing learning environments. I work in close collaboration with school leaders, teachers, students, and families to ensure that inclusive values are not just spoken, but lived. Under our collective efforts, the Inclusion Department was awarded an Outstanding rating by KHDA—a testament to our shared vision and commitment.
I am committed to building a culture where all students feel respected, valued, and supported, fostering a sense of belonging that enables them to flourish both academically and personally.
"Together we inspire creative, mindful learners who value diversity, support one another, and strive for success."
