Natasha Smith
Senior Deputy Head of Primary and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead
I'm delighted to be part of the team at GEMS Founders School as part of the Executive Leadership Team.
Originally from London, I obtained my Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in 2007 and I have nearly two decades of experience in education, including nine years as an Assistant Head teacher and two as a Deputy Head in diverse settings in the UK. I completed the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) in 2022, which has further ignited my commitment to develop effective teaching and learning using research-based methods. Since arriving at GFS in August 2024, I have been fortunate to work across the Primary School as an Advanced Skills Teacher in KS1 and Deputy Head in KS2.
Through my experience of teaching children and leading teams, I have a deep understanding about how children learn and I am committed to ensuring that all students feel valued and achieve their full potential. I am passionate about reading and writing and believe for children to develop they must forge strong relationships in which they feel nurtured and supported.
I am extremely excited to continue my journey at GFS as Senior Deputy Head of Primary and to be working alongside a dedicated team, who hold the children at the forefront of everything that we do.
