Ryan Woolf

Founders Development Leader - Transition

[email protected]

Hello! My name is Ryan Woolf and this is my fourth year of teaching at GEMS Founders School. I am now in my tenth year of teaching PE and have been teaching in the UAE for the last six years. I was born in Essex in the UK, trained to be a teacher in the South of England, and hold a BA (Hons) Degree in PE and Sports Coaching. I have a real passion for all sports, particularly football, running, and triathlon.

I chose to teach because of my own amazing experience in PE and the inspiration of my PE teacher. I love the idea of giving back the enjoyment and life experiences that sport has given me.

This year, I am proud to be serving as an ASLT and Founders Development Lead in Transition. In this role, I work closely with staff, students, and families to ensure smooth transitions between key stages, supporting both academic progress and student wellbeing. I lead initiatives to help new students settle into our school community, coordinate pastoral support during key transition points, and develop strategies that ensure every student feels confident and prepared for the next stage of their education.

I love living and working in Dubai and can often be found running along the beachfront or cycling around the desert in Al Qudra. I also enjoy competing in local duathlons and triathlons, as well as playing six-a-side football to meet friends and stay fit. I cherish time with my family back in the UK and always try to visit every summer and winter.
