Louise Dean
Assistant Headteacher Upper Key Stage 2
My name is Louise Dean, and I am honoured to be returning to the Primary sector as Assistant Head Teacher of Upper Key Stage 2 for the 2025–2026 academic year. I am transitioning from my current role as Head of Year 7, a position I have held for the past two years. Prior to this, I held the position of Head of Student Welfare within the Primary sector while teaching in Year 6. This year marks my fifth year at GFS, and I am excited to continue contributing to our thriving school community in this new capacity.
I hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), completed in London, and a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Information Technology and Spanish Language, awarded in 2015. Additionally, I achieved a Distinction in my Business Administration and Calculations Diploma.
Before entering the education sector, I spent over 25 years in international corporate roles across the UK, Ireland, and Spain, specialising in sales and management within the technology, property, and leisure industries. I consider it a privilege to integrate this professional experience into my teaching practice, offering students meaningful insights into the skills and attributes that are vital in the modern workplace.
On a personal note, I am a proud mother to two grown-up children and a devoted grandmother to two wonderful grandchildren.
I look forward to working in close partnership with parents, and alongside my colleagues, to prioritise and support both the academic progress and overall wellbeing of our incoming Year 5 and Year 6 pupils.
