Rowney Hastewell

Hello! My name is Sian and I am head of SMSC. I started working at GFS in September 2022. Before I made the move to Dubai, I worked as a primary teacher for 4 years in Essex, England. I gained my PGCE qualification at the University of Brighton and have taught in a range of different age groups from Foundation stage, to Upper Key Stage 2. I am passionate about creating a holistic learning environment which embraces confidence, uniqueness and the growth mindset of resilience. Because of this, I strive to make these traits a part of the wider school community across SMSC subjects. On a personal note, I love music and try and see my favourite bands play live as often as I can. I also love watching sport, particularly football and athletics.
