Katherine Read

My name is Kate Read and I am thrilled to be working as Assistant Headteacher for Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) at GEMS Founders school. I’ve had the joy of teaching for over fourteen years with Early Years pedagogy always being at the heart of my ethos and approach to teaching. I’m incredibly passionate about supporting all children I work with to become resilient, ambitious and self-regulating individuals who strive to challenge themselves; not only in their learning but in all aspects of life.

Over the course of my professional career, I have had the pleasure of networking with a variety of educators including collaborating with UCL/Institute of Education in London delivering seminars to MA Early Years students and working with the EYFS Advisory team for the London Borough of Lambeth to train teachers. I’ve worked closely with university professors to present at the Nursery World Show in London and also worked as an Early Years Foundation Stage Profile (EYFSP) lead moderator in London for over six years. In 2021 I was fortunate enough to be able to move to Dubai and successfully appointed in my current role. It has been an absolute honour joining the GFS family and I look forward to continuing to work with you all in supporting our community to be the best it can be.
